Operator Basics Version 2005 Operator Basics 2005 contains three courses (Surface & Ground Water Systems, Ground Water Systems, Wastewater Lagoons) and a "Water Exploration" showcase. Each course is designed to prepare operators of small public water systems for certification. This project proved to be too massive for our cumbersome InDesign XML editing system, so something more flexible needed to be built. We expanded our development team and needed a way for developers to edit pieces of the program remotely without monopolizing project resources. Each piece of content and multimedia needed to be edited remotely and independently. So it was necessary to create a custom learning management system (LMS) and content management system in PHP.
